After seven years of using RankMath (I think I was the 30th download when it was released), I have made a change. After trying a variety of alternatives, the release of SureRank Premium and, more importantly, the LTD, I have decided that it is time for a change. While the LTD is expensive, it may pay for itself in 24 months simply by comparing it to the ever-increasing price of RankMath Pro. The migration is simple, and the fact that the SEO options are available within Bricks Builder made this a no-brainer. There are a couple of features I am already missing, but I will get used to them, or they will eventually be added. Those features are the 404 monitor (nice but not necessary) and the “redirect this page” option in the admin bar. The latter is something I used often, but not enough to keep me as a customer.
I did ask ChatGPT for a pros and cons summary, but it seemed unaware of all the options in SureRank Pro, so using any of them would have seemed disingenuous. Like Yoast, RankMath has many years of history, and while it’s crammed full of features, I didn’t use 90% of them, so I needed something a little lighter but still very capable. I suspect, as with RankMath, new features will be added relatively fast. I am an LTD person because I never know what the future will hold, so I avoid annual subscriptions whenever possible.
SureRank’s built-in AI-centric nature is somewhat interesting, but so far, it has been underwhelming. Others have complained, and I suspect it will be updated quickly to correct the issue — not reading the post content for reference.
I also tried buying this for my employer, but after installing and testing, the analytics features of RankMath and staff familiarity with the tool made them decide to stick with RankMath.
